The past few days, I’ve had a lot of things on my to-do list that just keep getting pushed over to the next day…and the next…and the next…
You know how it is.
Two of them were fairly minor things. One was watching a Udemy course I got awhile back about increasing income from freelance writing. The other was cutting up avocados to put in the freezer for smoothies. They were 50 cents each at Aldi’s this week, so I bought a bunch. They were starting to get pretty ripe, and even though I was worried about washing them, I kept putting off the task.
Well, yesterday, I had about 15 minutes before I had to leave to pick up my son from gymnastics. And I decided to be a responsible adult and tackle two tasks at the same time.
I opened up the Udemy course on my computer and was delighted to realize that I could “watch” (listen to) the video at 1.5 times speed. This was the first time I used Udemy, so I didn’t know it could do that.
I then did my avocados up while listening.
The course turned out to be not-so-great, so I skipped around to a few sections that were most applicable to my situation before just turning the whole thing off and checking it off on my list as “done” even though there’s quite a bit I didn’t watch.
And I got my avocados at just the right time. One more day and I might have had to throw them out.
I’m quite pleased with the idea of listening to something like that while doing the type of work I hate, though, so I think I’m going to be on the lookout for more great podcasts. Let me know if you have any favorites.
